Becoming a Sponsor at Austin Creek Equine Centre

Our mission at Austin Creek is to provide EAL programming to improve the mental wellness of our community. The positive impact of EAL has been well documented, however, the families and youth who need our expertise often cannot afford it.

Our Not for Profit division has provided free sessions for youth and families that are in financial need to improve their life skills and mental wellness.

Please contact Austin Creek directly via our website if you are able to help; your contribution to the community will be much appreciated.

Fundraising

Austin Creek ran a very successful fundraiser on August 19, 2023.  We had a wonderful venue and an amazing silent auction that was supported by a large number of local businesses. Our outstanding volunteers were also key contributors to the event’s success.

The proceeds of our fundraisers are focused on providing our EAL programming for those who need financial support but this fund is starting to diminish.  We look forward to having more fundraisers in the future, so stay tuned.

Testimonials

Leslie-Ann Hall – grade 4 teacher at Irwin Public School writes:

Taking my students to the Austin Creek EAL program was an incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a warm environment, where every student felt seen and valued. The staff made a genuine effort to get to know each child, creating connections that helped them feel safe and supported. Over the course of the program, I watched my students grow in many different ways. They developed confidence, a stronger sense of self, and a deeper understanding of how they relate to and work with their peers. It was truly powerful to witness their transformation, and I’m so grateful we had the opportunity to be part of this amazing experience.

Jen Rosewarne – mom to Ruby Langlais

Ruby really started to struggle at school in grade 2. By grade 3, it was clear something was wrong.  We learned Ruby had severe dyslexia and Deb, with the help of Red, had work to do to build her self-confidence. Ruby often said being at the barn was the only place she felt safe and could be herself. When Deb started working with Ruby, the positive results were seen immediately, and progress continued for years. In 2024 Ruby was the youngest participant in the Liberty Natural Horsemanship Part 1 program at Austin Creek. Deb introduced Ruby to horses, but they will be part of Ruby’s life forever. Sometimes I think they saved my girl, and I will be forever grateful to Deb, Red, and Scout.

Summer McCabe writes:

We want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to Debi and Amanda, at Austin Creek Equine Centre.  My daughter Mary faced significant struggles with illness, and during some of her hardest days, working with her favorite horse Red, became nothing short of life-changing.  Through the gentle, patient guidance of Debi and Amanda, Mary discovered the true magic of equine therapy.  The horses unconditional love and quiet strength brought hope and healing in ways nothing else could.

Red quite literally saved Mary’s life, helping her find her path back to excellent health, resilience, and joy.  We will be forever grateful for Debi and Amanda’s kind, compassionate hearts, their dedication to their students, and their unwavering belief in the power of the horse/human connection.  Their gentle ways and passion for helping young people grow and heal through horses, has given Mary -and so many others- a gift that will last a lifetime.

Elaine A writes:

It was a random chance that brought me to Austin Creek, 8 years ago.  Over these years I have had the good fortune to learn and gain experience working with the horses at the farm.  But over the past 2 years, I have also had the opportunity to witness first-hand what the EAL program can achieve.

I have been aware for years what astute teachers horses can be, but it was under the particularly wise and patient guidance, from both Debi and Amanda, that I personally came to realize what more horses can gift us humans.  I had the privilege of assisting a number of EAL school programs and I observed the participants (from small groups of children to teenagers) gradually come together and settle into a place of personal growth.  They acted like they felt: safe, valued, trusted, heard and they had a voice.

Eight years ago I thought there couldn’t be many more significant lessons of insight into myself or my character -after all I was in my 60’s-yet I found myself experiencing exactly that at Austin Creek.  All thanks to the intuitive wisdom and tireless encouragement from Debi and Amanda, and of course from those beloved heart-healing horses.
